The Labor Movement

  • Union Review
    An interactive publication of labor-related news and views. Provides an online venue to share labor related news and opinions. The primary goal includes creating a forum for both rank-and-file and non-union workers where they can openly speak out about their work, struggles, and ideas in an effort to build a stronger union movement.
  • Michael Moore
    The creator of Roger and Me, the Big One, TV Nation, and the Awful Truth has his own excellent website!
  • YCL USA
    Website of the youth section of the Communist Party USA.
  • Labor Party
    Official website of the American Labor Party.
  • Labor Party Press
    Excellent articles on American politics, the labor movement, healthcare, etc. Updated every other month.
  • Labournet
    Lots of information on the labour movement world wide, including links to the Korean general strike Web page, a labour movement photo site, the Liverpool dockers lock out web site, the Hillingdon strike site, current disputes, international labour links, and much more. Labornet is its US based partner, with a lot of US union sites and a very useful links page. Both are part of the Association for Progressive Communications.

    An outstanding source of news, statistics, Union links, and web based e-mail. This site is basically concerned with unions in the U.S. If you are looking for a labor union in the U.S. this is a great place to start.
  • United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America
    A democratic national union representing some 35,000 workers in a wide variety of manufacturing, public sector and private non-profit sector jobs. UE is an independent union (not affiliated with the AFL-CIO) proud of its democratic structure and progressive policies.
  • AFL-CIO
    Although we may not agree with their policies, this site is nevertheless a good resource for workers everywhere.

  • Clean Clothes Campaign
    The Clean Clothes Campaign (or the "CCC" as it is popularly called) aims to improve working conditions in the garment and sportswear industry. Campaigners are regularly in touch with organizations in a variety of countries, including those where garments are produced, and in this way work together as a network to draw attention to labour rights issues in the garment industry.
